The life of a retired soldier is way harder than the life of any other person. This is because the lives of these soldiers turn out to be worse than they expected when they joined the military. Alas, many people are inclined to ignore the fact that vets need help for them to be able to have happy lives. It is crucial to note that the awful things that they encountered do not disappear when they come back home, therefore; the society should support homless veterans.

They need help: as noted above, soldiers face horrific situations when in the service that makes their lives never come to be the same again. Some have escaped death many times to the extent of losing the meaning of life. When they return to the society; every individual has an obligation to make sure that they live well with them and help them when need be.

Secondly, these people were willing to die so that citizens in their country can be safe. Regardless of the state where one comes from, they should be treated like important people in the society. Sadly, a soldier is only given the respect when they die, and this should not be the case. There is a need to appreciate their effort when they are alive and one way of doing this, is by helping those who have no homes.

To reduce crime rate: you need to know that a soldier can adapt to any situation and it even more so when they are trying to survive. When an ex-soldier becomes desperate, he or she might opt to engage in theft and robbery to make ends meet. There is nothing worse than a trained soldier becoming criminal since it will be too hard to deal with him or her. There have been cases where retired soldiers ended up in jails.

A soldier is always willing to do good to the people. More so, they are good because they seek to protect lives. When a soldier becomes desperate, the only way to pay back or to appreciate them is by helping them build a stable home, or building them houses.

Want people to not know is that many soldiers who leave the army when they have not served for some years are not willing to retire. Some of them have injuries that cannot allow them to continue serving as a soldier. The bad thing is, instead of the government finding something for these people to do, some of them end up getting hopeless, and they become beggars and sometimes criminals.

It is a shame when the authority abandons people who it heavily depended on in the past. Soldiers are always at the government beck and call, and they will do all that the government tells them to do. The government, therefore, needs to take care of the retired soldiers.

Finally, it is clear that every citizen has a duty to help these vets with not only material benefits but also support them recover from mental difficulties that some of them suffer. It is always good to be involved in any activity that results to support of veterans.
