| Happy New Year to everyone, and welcome to the first GreenQloud newsletter of 2015! We're not wasting any time, and hit the ground running with lots of great events lined up... | | We've looked back on 2014... | | | Whenever you start a new phase in your life, it’s important to look back, evaluate your journey, and draw the necessary conclusions. "We broadened our service offering to include QStack™, a software solution for private and hybrid cloud infrastructure; we won industry awards; we successfully raised funding, secured significant customers in various market segments and promoted demonstrated leaders within our team. We expanded our team, attracting top talent locally and from abroad, and opened an office in Seattle, Washington to help deepen our reach in the US market." Our CMO Paula Gould did just that, writing about how we became – from a public IaaS provider – a software company, by identifying our greatest asset. | | ... and looking forward to 2015 | | | Knowing where you came from is an incredibly valuable way of measuring your capabilities and opportunities. But what’s even more important is knowing where you’re headed. "2015 will be dedicated to increasing the QStack sales pipeline, while our development team works in tandem on numerous pilot programs with partners and customers to strengthen QStack‘s market fit." GreenQloud’s CEO Jónsi Stefánsson greeted the new year by explaining our main direction and why it’s so important to be dependable and accountable toward our customers. | | Women in Tech We’re really looking forward to kicking off our Women in Tech meetup season for 2015 on Tuesday, 13th of January. It seems that we are not the only ones excited about it, as the registration for the event has been excellent. "From the beginning, our main goal with the initiative was to encourage the participation and advancement of women in the IT industry in Iceland. The events are a great platform for all professionals in the technology industry to broaden their network and connect with colleagues across the tech sector. It also enables students and recent graduates to learn from top mentors and executives in the industry locally." Arnheiður Guðmundsdóttir, CEO of Ský, will be speaking on the topic of the trends in the Icelandic tech industry, including the statistical changes in enrollment for ICT programs in the Icelandic universities. If you are interested in the event, see all the details and RSVP on the Konur í Tækni Facebook page. | | UTmessan We’ll be a proud sponsor of UTmessan, Iceland’s prime technology conference and trade show, which this year takes place in Harpa on 6-7th of February. | | | | | Drop by our booth to chat with our team about QStack™, our cloud infrastructure management software, Women in Tech in Iceland and other initiatives. | | Growing up Soon, GreenQloud will turn 5 years old! We look forward to commemorating this milestone with various events and great content. Stay tuned, and celebrate with us! | | In case you missed it... We covered a wide range of topics on our blog. Here’s what you may have missed in December: | | Last word Our team welcomed a new member with the dawn of the new year, as Ægir V. Ármansson came on board as Senior Account Manager. “There’s something about GreenQloud that I had to get involved with. It’s going to be a challenge and it’s going to be fun. I’ve been in the IT business forever and as a result have extensive networks. I’m looking forward to using these networks to for both the benefit of GreenQloud and to use QStack to shape the future of IT.” | | We’re very happy to welcome Ægir, and encourage everyone to follow our social channels on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn, and keep an eye on our careers page for new openings. We’re expecting a spectacular year in 2015, and will expand our team rapidly, both locally and abroad. | | | | |
