You got the job! are some of the words that can brighten your day. More so if it is your dream job. However, before signing a contract or agreeing to anything, you should take your time to weigh your options. Make sure that the offer is in line with what you expected or what you can work with. These are some of the things to look out during job offer evaluation.

Before they offered you the job, the management will have done a lot of research on you. Just because they see you fit to work for them does not mean you are fit to work for them. You should, in turn, do your own research on them. Look at how the employees are treated, read the feedback from the clients and do your best to gather information.

Getting a salary is one of the reasons we all work. Most people actually look at the salary being offered. You should know how much your expertise are worth before you agree to any numbers. Go through the history of the company and see if layoffs are a common thing. You may also see to it that the salaries are paid on time.

Every job has to have perks. A large salary does not necessarily mean a greater life. You may be aware of the retirement plan of the company. It is more advisable to have a lower salary but a large portion of the money going to the retirement fund. You should also look at what kind of benefits you are eligible for and when they are available to you.

Savings and expenses are a big part of our lives. The closer you are to your place of work the shorter the commute and the lesser the expenses acquired. If a company office is located far, your commute may be longer and more tiring. They can offer to give you means of transport or facilitate your moving closer to the offices.

Time is of importance to everyone. Before accepting the job, make a point of knowing what kind of work load you will be facing and how many times you will be required to work over time. If they are paying you by the hour, then working over -time will not be a problem but if it is a normal salary you will grow tired of being over-worked with no pay.

Your career is a very important part of your life. Being good at it makes you see that you are playing your role in the world. Therefore, no matter how good the money and the benefits are, never accept a job knowing you will not be aiming to achieve your career goals. Make sure the job gives you the opportunity to grow.

Do a little digging on the role you are supposed to play in the company. You see what standards are being set for you and if they are realistic. If they are not, you might as well leave the job because doing what they want you to do is actually impossible.
